Navu 2.2 is all about clickthrough. First, we updated the look and feel of our guides and messages with data-driven changes that make them more effective. Then we added new reporting options to the analytics portal so our customers can better understand how Navu is being used by their visitors.
Now it’s easier than ever to drive a measurable impact in your site’s performance.
New Look and Feel
The presentation of content in our widget in 2.2 is changing significantly. Instead of showing a single card, when you hover on the widget, it will automatically expand to show you a full horizontal scrolling panel showing all of the content in the guide, plus messages. By showing more cards without requiring a click, we hope to further engage more visitors and hope that that will lead to more clickthrough.
In 2.1, we supported three presentation styles: floating (bottom-left), chat-integrated (bottom-right), and banner. Now in 2.2, we support the same styles, but the banner version is changing from vertical scrolling to horizontal scrolling.
We now always show you all of your eligible messages and guide cards based on your audience assignments. Content that you have already consumed will be marked “seen” and moved to the end of the list.
Updated Reporting
The purpose of this release is to further increase the clickthrough rates — i.e., helping customers get visitors to consume more of their best content. As part of this effort, we are also adding a new column in our Navu Usage table on the Site tab so that you can see three things:
- Viewers (unchanged): Visitors who saw a Navu widget at some point during their journey
- Users (unchanged): Visitors who “used” Navu — which could be as simple as hovering on our widget, even if they didn’t use it to consume any content
- Consumers (new): Visitors who consumed key content using Navu
Previews, Perfected
The preview behavior in 2.2 is changing to be more intuitive. When you choose Preview, you will emulate a new visitor who is a member (only) of the selected audience. During preview, we never treat content as seen, so you always see all of the relevant content and it isn’t moving around in strange ways.
