Create an AI Chat for your website trained on your content
Step 1: Create your AI
Go to https://app.navu.co/setup/ and enter your website’s URL. When prompted, enter your email address to create your Navu AI.

Step 2: Try it
After entering your address you will see a test page with your AI ready for you to try. Ask a question to see how the AI responds. Remember that at this point, the AI may not be fully trained on your web content, so some answers may be incomplete. We are continuing to train the AI in the background, and depending on how much content you have, it should be fully trained within the hour.

After asking a few questions, click any of the buttons to start exploring your Navu portal. The portal is where you can manage the content the AI is trained on, add Skills to refine how the AI interacts with your visitors or to give the AI additional capabilities, or view the analytics about your visitors behavior and the questions they’re asking.
Step 3: Preview it
Navu’s AI is housed in a Sidebar on your website. We take care of all the initial styling required to seamlessly integrate the Sidebar on your website. Within a few hours of creating your portal, you will receive an email with a link to a preview of the Sidebar on your website. Follow that link to understand how the Sidebar and AI will behave on your website and the experience you can now provide for your visitors.
Your Evaluation has started
You have 30 days from when you created your AI to evaluate its performance. Once you receive the email notifying you that your AI’s training is complete and your preview is ready, your AI is ready to deploy to your website and to start fielding questions from your visitors. Within your portal you will find a list of all the additional actions you may wish to take to maximize Navu’s benefit. This includes making adjustments to the answers the AI is providing, ensuring you’re meeting your privacy obligations as well as integrating Navu into your CRM or existing live chat solution.
Installation
At any point during the evaluation you can install Navu on your website and publish the Sidebar to a subset or all of your visitors, depending on how you wish to manage its introduction. As you collect more information about your visitor’s journeys and the conversations they are having in the AI Chat, the analytics Navu provides will offer more and more insights into your visitors.
Customize the Sidebar look and feel
There are typically two changes you may wish to make during your evaluation. The first is to modify the look or behavior of the Sidebar on your website. This includes its appearance, any labels or text, disclaimers, the contact form fields, when the Sidebar opens, etc. You can adjust all of these from within your portal, or get in touch with us via the feedback page in the portal and we’ll make any necessary changes for you. If you have a web design team you work with, the following documents provide detailed information on how to manage the Sidebar using CSS properties.

Adjust the AI’s answers
The second change you may wish to make is to how the AI is answering a specific question. Typically, the AI will deal with all questions being asked of it. However, should you wish to change how the AI responds you have several options:
- Manage the training content, typically removing older or conflicting content, or adding additional content not on your website. If it has a URL, public or private (i.e. gated), we can use it to train the AI.
- Directly enter reference question and answer pairs into the Navu portal to directly control how a set of questions (for example, all questions related to pricing) are answered.
- Add Skills to instruct your AI how to handle sophisticated questions such as helping a visitor select the right product for their needs from all the products you offer.
